Welcome to The Humber Landlords Association (South Bank)
The Humber Landlords Association was formed in 2008, by the amalgamation of North East Lincolnshire Landlords Association (NELLA) and the Hull & District Landlords Association (HDLA), the two largest independent landlord organisations operating across the 4 local authorities that make up Humberside & Lincolnshire. Our membership is made up of over 500 individual PRS landlords, owning and representing thousands of properties in North East Lincolnshire, Hull, North Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire.
The Humber Landlords Association (South Bank), formally known as NELLA, was founded in April 1996 by Private Rented Sector (PRS) landlords, for PRS landlords, with the sole aim of representing the PRS within the area. Over the years, NELLA has evolved into an organisation committed to promoting excellence within the PRS and as such subscribes to a nationally recognised code of practice and operates in conjunction with local, regional and national organisations.
HLA (South Bank) is actively working to provide good quality rented properties at reasonable rents and it has become increasingly apparent that this can be best achieved by liaising with other organisations such as the Local Authorities, Fire Service, charitable organisations and tenants representatives to name a few.
A partnership has been formed with the Fire Service in a bid to make our properties safer by installing smoke detectors and carrying out home safety checks. For many years we have had an active working relationship with C.A.R.E - the charity who looks to house homeless and vulnerable people.
Tenants are regularly consulted in a bid to meet their expectations in what is after all a joint venture between landlord and tenant alike.
HLA (South Bank) meet every three months (with the Steering Committee meeting more regularly) and have guest presentations from associated professionals such as Lawyers, Financial Advisors and National Federation of Residential Landlords.
Recently, HLA has been instrumental in negotiating with major UK insurance companies to achieve an unprecedented rate (as low as 40p per £1000 rebuild cost), exclusive for HLA members.
In addition, HLA have previously secured borrowing for new and existing purchases with major banks, as low as 0.49% above Base Rate for the life of the loan with minimal set up costs.
There are many other examples of the benefits and major cost savings that can be enjoyed by HLA members.
